How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4445613 / 5220FR2008F Washer Water Inlet Valve

Replaced the cold water solenoid. Ordered the part one day and I have never had any company get my order so fast. 

Listened to the fix it guy. Replaced the tub pump, and the old one was shot. LG front loader washer 14 years old, still works perfect except for this little problem. Still had water in tub after sitting so I replaced the hot water valve. It was cheap but didn't fix the problem, so I replaced the cold water inlet valve. FIXED it, and now it's like new again. Thank you APP's. 

We kept getting an FE code on our washer mid-wash. I ordered the part next day shipping and it arrived early morning the next day. The install was quick and simple. I swapped it out and haven't had the error since. 

LG wm2688hwma throwing FE error. Replaced both water inlet valves and water level pressure switch. Very easy to get to the valves and pressure switch. Needed a bunch of towels to deal with the water coming out from the various inlet valve hoses. Needed a philips screwdriver for the washer lid, inlet valves and pressure switch. Needed pliers for removing the clamps on the inlet valve hoses. Needed an adjustable wrench for removing the water line hoses. Fairly straightforward and easy repair. After replacing these parts the washer is working again. 

I ordered the two water inlet valves as a Google search showed this as the problem. I watched the videos provided (they weren't my exact front load washer, but are close enough for me to figure it out on mine.) I think it took me at most an hour to replace both of the valves. Removing & returning all of the screws on the back of my washer took at least half of the repair time. I did this repair two days ago and not a drop of water has leaked. 

I ordered the two inlet valves, hot and cold. I was planning to order the parts to have ready for a repairman, but I saw the videos on the page. I watched the videos and saw that it looked pretty straight forward. I've never opened up a washer or dryer before, so seeing the video made the scary mysterious beast a lot less complicated. I pretend to be handy but most the time it is trial and error...that can be my skill level label. This repair was easy! I loved that the videos were my exact LG washer so the parts and the inside looked the same as the video. I followed along step by step and completed it without complication. Thanks so much! 

Unfortunately new PCB boards are not longer available. My Home warranty company wanted to replace the washer. I did some research and trouble shooting and it seemed the cold water fill valve was defective. I decided to take a chance and replace it. The part arrived in 2 days and it was an easy replacement. It fixed the problem and the washer is now working perfectly. 

Change water valve. 

I researched the FE Error code on the LG front loading washer and found it was due to a bad inlet valve not shutting off. I found a replacement part on AppliancePartsPros.com and ordered the part. I followed the video provided on website and was able to replace with minimal aggravation. I ran a test load of laundry and did not get error message. The new valve has been working this week with several loads of laundry and no more error code. Thanks for a great product and helpful information. 

Trouble shooting said most probable cause was faulty water inlet valves so I bought both for the hot and cold water. Very easy to install took about 30 minutes tops but did not fix the problem. Turned out the problem was two of the water ports into the dispenser assembly which were clogged with calcium and lime caused by hard water. After soaking the dispenser in lime away and using a screw to carefully break out the build up it worked like a charm. We have had this washer for over ten years and had issues with one of these hoses burst in the past (not fun) . At that time the dispenser also broke at the water inlet when I was taking the hose off. In hindsight I bet the hose issue was due to this calcification issue at the dispenser unit as well. I am going to put this on a yearly maintenance to make the ports remain clear. As a safeguard I have installed a Waterwatcher leak detector which which will shut off the washer if it detects water on the floor. Last if you have this issue you may want to replace the hoses as you go as well. I stressed hose is not a happy hose.
