How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4445613 / 5220FR2008F Washer Water Inlet Valve

I have changed two parts and no water is leaking, It is very good. 

Replaced both inlet valves. Process was as quick and easy as the demonstration video showed. 

I ordered the water inlet valve for the cold & hot watersides. The AppliancePartsPros.com site recommended replacing (most purchased with) the water-level pressure switch. So, I ordered it. The parts arrived quickly and were the LG original equipment (OE) parts. The parts were simple to replace and they worked! I will be using this site next time, also. 

Pulled the old one off and replaced it with the new one. Works great now. 

Easy fix replaced water inlet valve. I suggest you look at yours first, before buying. Mine had 4 hoses instead of 3 or 2. That way you have right part for job. Job took about 15 min. to replace. easy peasy. 

Was a direct swap of the part. Moving the washer was helpful to have an assistant. I did have an issue after re-installing washer were pinched hoses when sliding back into place. Was held at 51 minutes and agitating slightly due to low water flow. Once released hoses all worked great. 

When a LG front loading washer displays an IE error code, it refers to water input failure. Most online diagnostics only go so far, check the filter imbedded where the hose connects to the back of the washer and then the Cold Water Inlet Valve (LG Part Number AP4445613) and the Hot water Inlet Valve, (LG Part Number AP4441935). Nothing I found online pointed to the Dispenser Assembly, LG Part Number AP4439384. It is very easy to see if the Dispenser Assembly is the point of failure, with the water on and the machine running, attempt to squeeze the right most hose, (Hose Inlet, LG Part Number AP4998828) as you are facing the machine, connected to the assembly. This is the hose with the largest diameter. You will notice if the Dispenser Assembly is failing this hose will be very hard compared to the other three hoses. The hardness of this hose is caused by no water being able to pass through to the assembly, due to the assembly being clogged up with lime deposit or other debris. If you have extremely hard water this most likely is your problem. 

It took about 45 mins to do the job. It wasn't very hard to do.The video was a big help. I am 83 yrs old. I want thank you for everything, in the future I'll know who to call. 

I replaced the water inlet valve inside the washer. As soon as I opened it up it was filled with a sandy sediment which was probably what was causing the leak. Replaced it and the leak has stopped. 

The pump was bad
