How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5229130 / 5220FR2008H Water Inlet Valve Assembly (Washer)

Replaced both water inlet valves. Very simple repair. I was most pleased that I diagnosed the problem correctly and was able to replace the valves within 15 mins. Very happy with myself! 

Googled the error and found out it was probably the fill valve/solenoid. My water meter is a smart meter and was tripped after doing only one load of laundry one day. So that with the FE error I knew it was time to but more parts for this washer. Swapped out the valve and its back to running normal. I have unfortunately replaced about everything on this washer and it's dryer mate. But Appliance Parts Pros always has the items I need at the best prices! 

Multi-issue problem: Nearly 40-year-old plumbing. Shutoff valve clogged with sediment causing the low flow to the washer. Washer inlet valve filters clogged with sediment. Washer inlet valves questionable (washer purchased in 2007) due to sediment Resolution: A new washer shutoff valve. New hoses New cold/hot water inlet valves purchased from AppliancePartsPros.com AppliancePartsPros.com saved the day. I originally tried to order the parts directly from LG, but AFTER completing the order I was told the cold water inlet valve was out of stock (encompass website shows it as IN STOCK - WILL SHIP TODAY) and would not ship for approximately 10 business days. AppliancePartsPros.com stated the items were in stock and would ship immediately. They were, they did and I had the parts the next day for the repair. 

Replace it 

Pretty simple receiving my parts from appliancepartspro and a timely fashion screwdriver and a pair of pliers maybe 20 minutes done and over job complete
