How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5306238 / DA97-06995A Water Dispenser Cover

I looked around the internet for a replacement part. I came across appliance parts pros. I was not sure the cover would be the correct part until I read the reviews. I was so easy to remove and replace the broken cover assy. A wide stiff putty knife rather than a small bendable knife removed the cover. Just push it under the side and the whole side will lift up. Use your fingers to pop the whole assy off and put the new one on. Total time to fix 3 minutes which included going to the garage a second time to get the larger putty knife. 

After my kids broke the dispenser cover, it was operated for over a year by using your finger through the hole where the rubber cover was to press the lever making getting water a 2 hand operation. Ordered spares when fixing another project (Clothes Dryer). Examining the Cover showed how it was attached and a small flat screwdriver was used to release the tabs holding it in place. It turns out that the water hose & Lever were not needed after all (they were cheap and I ordered them just in case). New cover simply snapped into place. 

I ordered this replacement. It arrived the next day! Everything I read said it took less than 15 minutes. In actuality, it took less than 2 minutes and it works perfectly! I used small flat screwdrivers to pop the old panel off and simply snapped the new one on. 

AppliancePartsPros mailed me another dispenser switch in less than 24 hours. I popped the old one off with a putty knife and snapped the new one on. Done! So glad I find this website. 

Removed the old switch cover. Diagnosed the problem. Searched the internet for Samsung parts. Ordered part, received part, installed part. Actual repair took about 10 seconds. The video on the web site confirmed I was ordering the correct part. 

Removed and replaced the cover dispenser assembly. Just pries off and snaps back in. 

Replaced cover(internal button is part of cover). Used a putty knife. 

I removed the cover plate, which had a broken tab inside. I bought the replacement cover plate and snapped it in place. The plates are held in with plastic tabs. I slipped a thin blade between the cover and the wall of the refrigerator and popes the tabs loose. The new cover snapped in easily and everything worked again. 

I looked up on internet as to how to make the repair. I ordered the part from APP and when it arrived, I installed it. 

Ordered the part and replaced it. Easy as that!
