How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5577941 / DG94-00520A Range Oven Igniter

From the experience I had , first I did check the igniter if it turns on and what color would be , if it is a dark red means is not good which it was the case with me, it has to be white red 

We went online to troubleshoot and found this was the most common problem for the type of stove we have. There was a video showing how to test the part and it appeared to be the issue. We ordered the part from Appliance Parts because they had a return policy for any reason and the price was comparative plus the shipping appeared to be fast. We ordered on Tuesday evening the part shipped Wednesday and we received it on Thursday and the oven was functioning once again. Thank you 

Replacement of the temp/ignitor unit. Even though it was glowing red, it apparently was not pulling enough current to have the circuit board open the gas valve. 

Replaced with this igniter. 

There are several comments about the handy video, but that video was removed from the website. You can find it on youtube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWrqsbWP2jo Several differences between my oven and the one shown in the video. 1. I didn't have to remove any screws from the back of the oven. The wiring harness was accessible at the bottom of the oven (in the back) through an opening. 2. Inside the oven, I followed the instructions to remove the panel at the bottom, the piece of metal that diffuses the flame, but unlike the video, in order to remove the igniter, I had to remove 2 screws that held the tube that supplies the flame, then I was able to get to the screws to remove the igniter. All in all, very simple job. Thanks for the part. It works great and I'll use you guys again. 

Pulled oven away from wall. Closed gas valve. Disconnected power. Opened stovetop to release trace gas and confirm gas closed. Removed paneling at bottom of oven cavity. Disconnected igniter electrical from wiring via connector under oven in drawer cavity. Removed igniter, but this was difficult given orientation and access to two screws/nuts. Needed to first disconnect gas pipe the igniter was connected to in order to improve access. Once removed, it was easy to replace with new igniter and put everything back together with care. 

We ordered the correct igniter from you, watched your informative video, then replaced the igniter ourselves. We could not have done this ourselves without first watching your video. Thanks for the assistance! 

First off; I ordered this part via regular shipping at about 3pm figuring 3-7 days to receive. It came by 11am NEXT DAY!! TOTALLY AMAZED! as I am somewhat rural SW WI. Samsung 5 burner range and convection oven. Online video repair very helpful! Actually did not need to even pull out oven from wall. Just unscrewed bottom pan,and couple things, unplugged ignitor and plugged back in. Screwed back together. HUGE REPAIR COST SAVINGS! LITTLE TIME! and APPLIANCE PROS again lived up to its name! Thank you! 

I had never worked on a gas stove before I called Appliance Parts Pros told them my model name and model number the guy on the phone gave me some good advice on changing it. It went easy and works perfectly 

NX58H9500WS/AA (Circa Nov 2016) required new “bake” igniter, a part that has been discontinued per Samsung support. I ordered the “broil” igniter, DG94-00520A. The “broil” igniter has a single Molex connector body for the two wires, while the “bake” igniter has separate Molex connectors for the two wires. I used a 0.093” Molex pin extraction tool to remove the white plastic bodies from both old & new igniters. Put old single connectors onto new igniter wires. This approach is my preference over cutting & splicing 300v / 250°c wires. This is a common igniter across many manufacturers for broiler & bake (oven).
