How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5325135 / DC97-16782A Dryer Drum Support Roller Assembly

Ordered the parts, watched the repair videos and fixed it myself. I replaced the belt, spring and tension roller also while I had it apart. The parts I found at appliance parts pros were half the price of buying from a local parts store. It was a simple fix and I will use this company in the future for any appliance repair. Thank you for the great service, price and support. 

Replaced a roller that had worn out bearings and since I was going to be taking it apart, I also changed the belt as well as give the interior a good cleaning. Dryer is nice and quiet now. You will need an 11/32 or adjustable wrench and a screwdriver. 

Took it apart and inspected the four Rollers (bearings). Noticed one was catching a bit. I replaced all four last year, but used cheap non-OEM. I am hoping that these are Samsung OEM and I won't have to do this for a while. 

Replaced the heating element and 2 roller assemblies. 

The repair was very simple with a 1/4 nut driver, adjustable wrench, 15mm combination wrench, and a couple of screwdrivers. The drum support rollers completely failed and the idler wheel for the belt was locked. I referenced the repair video which made it very simple. It took about 1 hour total to repair and while it was apart I cleaned out all the internal vents and fan blades. It is super quiet again and working like new. 

Reviewed the APP video and ordered suspected parts (Idler assembly, drum wheel assembly (4 x), and to be safe drum belt. Followed the process for disassembly. The idler wheel was completely off the bearing, and 3 of 4 drum wheels locked up. replaced the needed parts and re-assembled the dryer. The belt was OK. It was as easy as the instructions said. 

The fix went great. I was able to get the Dryer back together and it works great! 

I thought it was a worn out drum support roller, so I bought a complete set, but decided to replace the belt, and the idler assembly and spring. After taking the dryer apart, all of the support rollers were OK (replaced them anyway), but the idler roller bushing was BADLY worn, and there was a pile of metal shavings from the bushing. Seems like it has been a problem since the replace part had a bearing in the roller rather than the original bushing. The video was extremely helpful. I watched it a couple of times before tackling the problem, and also while doing the repair, as I forgot to do a couple of things while actually doing the repair. 

Followed instructions on the AppliancePartsPros video to tear down dryer all the way to the rear bulkhead. Found metal shavings from the abrasion of the inside of the lower drum support wheel on the rear bulkhead. Order a new assembly with overnight shipping, replaced the wheel and had the dryer back together by the next day. Approximately 60 minutes to diagnose and repair. 

New heater element and two drum rollers. Also new idler pulley and belt. I am amazed that the dryer still worked. The plastics idler pulley had worn down to the steel bearing, the belt never broke and it was still working. If the heater had not died, not sure how long we would have ran it with the idler and drum roller broken. One note, the heater element assembly does not come with the wire jumpers. One of the terminals is a 5/16" blade, very difficult to find this size blade connector.
