I removed the upper drawer of the freezer section and unscrewed the two retaining screws, then removed the broken assembly. Discovered that the cable to the thermostat was severed, and the ice tray broken in two, with pieces of the tray missing. I disconnected the wiring harness from the broken assembly and swapped-in the new assembly, connecting it to the wiring harness. I then attached the new assembly using the two retaining screws.
Once this was done, I pressed the reset switch at the bottom of the assembly for a few seconds, then replaced the drawer and closed the freezer drawer. Checked a few hours later and the ice maker was working normally.
