How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4205355 / DC64-00519B Washer Door Lock Switch Assembly

For the repair, I followed the video instructions that were provided on the Appliance Parts Pros website. I found them to be very helpful. The repair went smoothly and quickly. The only challenge with this particular repair involved the spring-loaded wire-loop which secures the rubber seal that is between the drum and the door. That spring has a lot of tension. I kept thinking that one minor improvement to the video instructions might be to recommend the wearing of leather gloves when pulling on the spring-loaded wire-loop. Otherwise though, no problems at all. 

Ordered the part, it arrived a week later, perfect timing. Watched the video on the part page. Used a few household tools lying around and boom it was done. Hardest part was reaching in with fingers to grab little bits. Works perfect and saved us a huge headache. 

Ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com and watched a YouTube video. All went well and the wife is happy. 

First I found a YouTube video and my husband took it apart to see what was wrong. We realized the door switch was broken. Then I searched and found the part on AppliancePartsPros.com. I bought the new part (door switch assembly) and paid to have it shipped in 2 days (I have kids and lots of laundry ??). I also watched the video on their site on how to repair it. Once it came my husband switched it out with the broken one. It took about 10 minutes to fix once we had watched the video and knew what to do. 

I replaced the electronic door latch. 

Latch had cracked and needed to be replaced. Hardest part was getting the replacement part once the original replacement arrived broken. 

I purchased the door switch assembly and door lock bezel and watched the repair video available on the Appliance Parts Pros website. The video was very helpful. Replacing the switch assembly and bezel took less than 15 minutes. The parts were a perfect fit.

After watching your video, I felt I could make the repair myself. Was easy to do. 

Washing machine stopped working. Noticed door switch assembly had visible broken plastic. Decided to repair myself, first time ever fixing a washing machine. Ordered part, which promptly arrived. Watched the video on how to repair. Then began the fix. Everything went smoothly except for re-installing the washer rubber seal trim steel ring. Looked at video again and following the tutorial steel ring was correctly installed. Saved well over $100 had I called a repair service to do what I did in about 20 minutes.
