How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4202690 / DC31-00054A Washer Drain Pump

Drain pump was not working correctly. Put new one on, works now. Get ready to catch all the water coming out of hoses! Over a gallon came out! Awesome part and delivery. 

Ordered a new one from appliancepartspros.com, got it in 2 days ( Sears would have taken 2 weeks, and 22 bucks more). Only problem was the squeeze clamps that were on the washer wouldn't seal, replaced them with hose clamps, all in all took me about a half an hour. I like the fact that the part got here quickly, and I will be using this site again. 

Dis-assembled the pump unit from the washer. Separated the motor and impeller from the housing. Found the impeller was "ratcheting" in the windings. Went on AplliancePartsPros and found the proper unit. Plenty of cross references when you have the model number. Ordered the motor and had it shipped next day. Motor arrived around noon the next day. Turned te new motor imeller and found it to turn in the same manner as the old unit. Thought I was in DEEP trouble at this point. went ahead and installed motor, re-installed the pump assembly and connected hoses. Stood unit up and connected the garden hose to it. Ran it through a quick cylce and the unit performed like new. Saved myself the cost of a new washer for less than $100.00. 

I followed advice and videos on diagnosing and repair. The impeller on the original pump was stripped and just spun loosely on the pump shafts. The replacement pump was delivered within a few days. Replacement took about an hour. Most of that time was spent wrestling with the boot retaining spring/wire behind door. 

Watched a video on Youtube that pointed me to the issue, removed the old pump, ordered a new one. Replaced and Washing Machine worked as designed. Very thankful for having AppliancePartsPros.com as a resourse for ordering parts. 

I ordered a new pump for my washer, I watched YouTube videos to show me how to uninstall and install the new pump. As I was taking things apart I made sure I labeled parts and screws, and where they went. The washer is working great and I'm a mother of four kids, if I can replace my washer pump myself anyone can!

Went to youtub and followed the video, and followed the steps and completed the repair. Had to go back because one of the hoses was not on properly, but was successful. Your part was also alot cheaper. Thanks
