How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5588417 / DC66-00680A Washer Pulsator Cap

I purchased the replacement cap from AppliancePartsPros.com. A very easy, speedy process and received my part, as promised, within 2 days and cheaper than Sears parts online. I only wished that I would have thought to purchase two more. It fit perfectly. 

Pressed it in place. 

All three leg tabs had broken off the center cap, that covers the hub, at the bottom center of the washer tub. I purchased 2 replacement parts, in case one broke during installation, or to have an extra on hand if it broke in the future. The leg tabs of the replacement part looked more beefy than the original. I lined up the three leg tabs of the part, with the three slots of the bottom center hub of the tub, and pressed down on the center of the cap, then made sure the part was installed securely. Very easy. After a few loads of laundry, it's still in place. Thank you reviewers for your insights, and thank you Appliance Parts Pros for your help. I felt the pricing was set fairly, and rthe part arrived quickly with regular shipping. 

Snapped the part in place. 

Parts Pro made it easy starting with photos in the guide making shopping for the new part easy. I simply shoved a small screw driver to remove the small broken clips left in the washer. The new cap then simply slipped into place and I pushed hard to snap it in securely. 

The replacement part was a bit more robust in its design. The three tabs that hold the cap to the washer tub were heavier and hopefully won't break like the original. The repair was easy, no tools were needed, and only took 5 minutes. I found it best to angle the cap during installation so one tab set into the mating slot before you press the other two in place. 

This was a simple snap the new piece on. Tight fit, so you had to push it down very hard, but it snapped in place perfectly and is working great. 

Ordered parts. Received in good time. Parts were exact fit and repair was done within 20 minutes. 

Googled Samsung parts booklet for my particular washing machine. Ordered from you guys. Arrived very quickly. For an 80 yr. old woman, I'm proud of myself. Other than standing on a short stool to get far enough into the machine to push on the cap and having to get my husband as my arms were not long enough to push the cap home, his were. Oh, in order to get the complete model number I took my cell phone and reversed the camera screen to take picture of back of machine as I wasn't about to move the machine to get the number. 

My husband easily snapped the new one into place. It was a pricey little piece of plastic, but it worked! The delivery was quick and the installation easy.
