How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4201894 / DC47-00016A Dryer Thermostat

Read on internet to find what would keep the dryer from starting then tested the thermal fuse found bad then ordered replacement from you. saved a lot of money by eliminating the need for a repairman 

Dryer would turn on and I would hear a slight click but dryer would not turn. Looked at YouTube and it mentioned some problems it could be. Somehow, I got AppliancePartsPros web site and read other people comments and looked at videos. I opened the back exhaust area and determined that the belt was not broken. From all the info I got, I narrowed it down to 3 parts, Dryer Thermistor, #AP4201716, Thermal fuse# AP4201894 and Broken belt switch# AP4044838. I could not test the old parts, so I ordered all 3 to be safe. In 45 minutes, (after looking at their videos on the web site again) I installed them. I also took the opportunity to clean out the lint exhaust line. Dryer started up and is working better than before. 

Watched the videos they provided and is was really simple. I feel I could fix any dryer after their step by step instructions! The parts I ordered from them were correct and fast delivery. 

First and foremost, if you don’t have a multimeter you should buy one before buying a single part. When the Samsung has no error codes and won’t heat, there could be a number of things wrong and you need to open the dryer up and start testing. Google search for videos on how to take apart your dryer. My Samsung wasn’t difficult, just time-consuming as the entire thing had to come apart to access the fuses and whatnot. Long story short, a fuse tested bad. I changed the fuse and the high limit thermostat too because a Google search suggested they could fail together. Put it all back together and back in business. Other advice: wear gloves. The sheet metal in a dryer is sharp. Oh and clean out the dryer while you’re in there. And test every part so you know what to buy! 

Using the video here I was very easily able to take my dryer apart. I thought it would be much harder than it was. There really isn't much to a dryer once you get inside and even the wiring is pretty much foolproof to put back where it goes. 

I looked at the main board and heard relays clicking. My wife went to look online and came across your website. I started looking and found your site very easy to use. Went to the videos and found all the information I needed and helpful. Ordered the parts and received them in 48 hours. Great web page and great service thanks 

Repair went good replaced heat element plus thermostat and thermal fuse dryer thermostat dryer thermistor. So far all is good good heat working properly. Took a couple of hours. Videos were great resources saved a bunch of money. Remember to take picture of wire connections. 

Ordered the gas assembly valve 

Never repaired a dryer before not really good with testing electrical components so I took the four most common failure parts and purchased. Went step-by-step remembered all the screws locations. A Phillips screwdriver was all I needed parts were super easy to find complete project disassembly replace parts reassembly approximately an hour turned it on hope for the best. I did this project with my son I wanted him to see how things work and you can fix things yourself without calling a repair man. Hit the start cycle and it ran just fine. I would recommend tackling this project to anyone with medium skills 

I read comments from other people's comments and determined the problem was either the thermal fuse or the "thermistor". The 2 parts were inexpensive so I ordered both and replaced both.
