How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4211934 / DC62-00142G Washer Water Inlet Valve

The model and serial numbers were on the back of the washer. Then went online at AppliancePartsPro.com and was able to to identify the part and part number from their parts schematic. Ordered the part and picked regular shipping. Had the part in two days. Then replaced using a phillips screwdriver and a pair of pliers. 

First replaced inlet valve ( was not working properly). Still got code. Then replaced board assembly, washer worked properly. Replaced hoses because of the gunk that was in the old valve. 

Diagnosis was the most difficult part of this repair. First I thought the leak might be coming from the area of the electric motor so I pulled the rotor off to examine behind it and found no leak. I should have gone directly to the cold water inlet valve as this was the original source of the leak and I was able to confirm this after pulling off the top cover and exposing the inlet valve. 2 Screws hold the inlet valve to the machine at the back along with removal of 3 hoses and 3 electrical clips. Since I was already back there I decided to replace the hot water inlet valve as well. Had to work the hoses loose with a flat blade screwdriver making sure not to cut or damage the hose. Also replaced the hot and cold water delivery hoses which were long overdue. Since I had the replacement delivery hoses on hand the total cost of the repair was $83 and 1.5 hrs of my time. Saved a bundle of cash and was happy to do this myself. 

Checked the continuity of the 3 solenoids on the water inlet valve. All checked good 500-1500 ohms. ordered the water inlet valve from AppliancePartsPros.com anyway. The service was fantastic.I expected to receive the part in a few days, but the part arrived 22 hours after I ordered it. Outstanding!!! I disconnected the 3 hoses from the water inlet valves going to the soap/softener/bleach dispenser. I could not blow air thru any of them with my mouth Removed the dispenser and soaked overnight in a pan of 9% pickling vinegar. The vinegar dissolved a buildup of calcium and lime. Flushed with hot water and reassembled with new water inlet valve. The washer now works like a new one. I now know where to go when I need parts in a hurry. Thanks,AppliancePartsPro. 

Changed the water supply valve 

I found the part and ordered it on Saturday. I received a very nice call Sunday from AppliancePartsPros telling me my billing and shipping address didn't match match. We fixed that problem on the phone. Order shipped on Monday. I received it on noon Wednesday. I watched a YouTube video on installation and it took about 10 minutes to actually install, with a screwdriver and pliers. Easy as could be. I saved about $150 over a repair call! 

Replaced water inlet valve. 

After researching and confirming that the inlet valve was not functioning properly, I ordered the new valves via AppliancePartsPros.com I ordered the parts on Friday afternoon, and they arrived Saturday. I installed the new parts on Sunday - and viola - was repaired and functioning properly.
