How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5956100 / W10712394 Adjuster Kit

Plastic parts holding the adjustment rack broke after 10 years. Looked at the part number and ordered over the internet. Parts arrived quickly and everything fit, except the diameter of the wheels was too big to fit into the rail. This time I called and spoke with customer service. They had me give them the serial and model numbers. Upon locating those numbers customer service determined that there were two parts that could be ordered, both identical with the exception of the size of the wheels. APP credited my first purchase and sent the new set the next day just in time for Christmas and the family food situation. Prompt and wonderful service! 

Ordered the correct Adjuster Kit online and followed the provided video directions to disassemble the old top racks and reassemble the new parts to facilitate the operation of the top rack slide-out. Directions were simply and effectively delivered, and I had little difficulty with the repair. I appreciated the video part replacement demonstration included on the same page as the order form since this is my first attempt to repair my own dishwasher. Overall, a great experience that has given me the confidence to try other minor repairs by myself. Thanks.

We ordered the Adjuster Kit. Although they looked different from the original they came with the dishwasher. I decided I could do this without my husband’s help! Followed directions and video that was recommended. No problem! Fast repair. 

I was unsure what parts I needed. I called the 800 number and talked with a representative. She quickly found the correct parts that I needed. My order showed up on time and was easy to install because the representative had previously directed me to an online video detailing how to install the new parts. 

I watched the repair video, then made the repair. The adjusters were different than the new kit, but basically come out the same way. Putting in the new pieces was easy, just follow the video. It would have been a very quick repair, except I had to pry apart the old plastic housings (they were not as easy to work as the new ones) 

I ordered a revised Adjuster kit that was better than the original parts.
