How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5956100 / W10712394 Adjuster Kit

Ordered the adjuster kit that contained the rollers and adjusters, ended up taking that apart to get the parts that I needed to make my larger sized rollers retrofit to the new parts. The new kit has smaller rollers than the unit I have, but I ordered them using the model number on the machine, so I expected them to fit without mods. The price of the kit was much less than I found on other sites for just the rollers alone. 

Took old parts off - added new. Directions did not come with parts, but looked up on line. 

Used repair kit from APP to fix issue. 

Replaced rack bracket 

Bought all new top basket railing parts 

Kenmore 665.13043k113 and replaced it with the Adjuster kit that fitted perfectly. 

Found a video showing replacing the parts. Ordered the parts which were delivered the next day. Took over an hour to install the parts due to NO INSTRUCTIONS with the parts. Had to review the video may times to get the parts in place. After doing one side the other side was a piece of cake. TWO problem areas were: a - tabs that hold the metal guide in place - trying to figure out which side of the basket to attach to. b - The plastic sleeves that the metal plates attach to were very hard to shove onto the plates. I know the reason for that but, it was troublesome getting them on and in the right position. 

Ordered new Adjuster Kit and installed. The parts on the new kit were more robust. 

Visited site, entered model number, found parts, looked at pictures, watched video for installation and then ordered. Parts came in 2 days, my wife and I watch the video again and repaired the top tray in less than 30 minutes. Works better than ever! 

Discovered from Google search and checking out several websites and watching video's, the only way to fix this common problem after many years of the dishwasher being used was to replace the entire adjuster kit. I watched the Video on AppliancePartsPros.com a few times and ordered the kit. I watched it one more time while installing the kit, pausing and playing it, and completed the repair. Parts were different but functioned the same. Before ordering, I called the toll free number and verified it was the right one and needed to get the entire kit and once I installed it understood why I did.
