How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5956100 / W10712394 Adjuster Kit

Found the parts on Appliance Parts Pros easily (looked up by model number of dishwasher). Ordered replacement adjuster parts and they arrived within 24 hours. Repair was straightforward once parts were in hand and total dishwasher downtime was ~36 hours. 

Using the adjuster repair kit was a breeze with the help of online videos showing how to do it. It took about 15 minutes to accomplish the repair, and everything works just like new. 

Replaced the entire adjuster mechanism 

Ordered a top tray repair kit. 

I called to verify the part needed, as it wasn't the plastic part as the original. The part arrived quickly and after watching the video again, worked great. 

Installed an adjustment kit. The only downfall was there were no instructions that came with the part. 

Stainless wire ( MacGyvered it ) works fine 

Researched replacement parts online and found AppliancePartsPros to be the best value to obtain needed kit for repair. Used YouTube video for installation instructions. 

Cross referenced part ordered did not match the OEM one which was all plastic. It has failed a few times so I figured this was an improved one. Received it lightning fast. It was a lot fewer parts then the original style and I was a little concerned. I'm normally pretty logical so I figured no problem, but I guess I'm not as smart as I thought I was. I went to the online chat thinking uh oh, I might have to send this back. Engaged with Suzanne and she assured me it was correct and the OEM style was obsolete. Makes sense it's like 15 years old and the original design really wasn't very good. She sent me the instructions and I just couldn't get it. It really was easy I just had some kind of mental block. Back to the chat again and this time it was Wendee. I said I know this should be easy, but I'm more of a YouTube guy than a written instruction guy. Boom she sent me the YouTube video and the rest is history. Dishwasher back up and running. Great team effort. 

Ordered the upper adjuster kit and replaced the parts, better material and easy to replace. The mention to go to a certain website to download repair instructions could have been a bit larger and more prominent on the outside of the box, it could easily be missed.
