How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6024203 / WPY54414 Dryer Belt Tension Pulley

Replaced drum rollers, dryer drive belt and belt tension pulley. 

Replaced the belt and tension pulley wheel 

Replaced worn out parts 

Replaced idler pulley and belt you will need external snap ring pliers 

I'm not a Do It Yourself by any means but with a repair man charging $100 just to diagnose the problem I figured I would give it a try! I ordered almost every part that could affect the drum not turning for $72 that included expedited shipping! With the helpful videos I completed the repair in under two hours. The videos are extremely helpful with step by step instructions and none of it is confusing. If I can I do this any one can! 

This was so easy to do, the dryer disassembles easily and the tension pulley is only held in place by a snap ring. The drum being removed is easily equipped with belt and replaced . This repair took me approximately 1 hour , most of that being cleaning the lint from the motor and drum compartment. All parts fit perfectly. 

We ordered two rollers for drum, a idler pulley, and a new belt. Idler pulley and one of drum rollers were bad.It also needed a new belt. All parts fit perfect! 

I figured the noise was coming from the belt tensioner pulley bearing, I replaced both drum support rollers, the belt tensioner pulley and the belt. I vacuumed all lint from the inside, being careful to get all lint off motor for better cooling, replaced all parts and reassembled unit. It runs like new for under $50 in parts. Very quick delivery of parts from Appliance Parts Pros; ordered on Sunday, at my house on Tuesday morning. 

Replace belt tension pulley 

I assumed that the belt was stretched and a new belt would fix the problem, tore dryer down and found out the belt tension pulley was shot. So I decided to order new belt tension pulley and figure since I was at it I would replace the pulley, belt, drum guides, and rollers . the wife was wanting a new dryer but after finding these parts online for a great price we went this route she was with out her dryer for 3 days but in the end it was the smarter choice just to fix it.
