How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007958 / WP33002032 Dryer Drum Baffle

Ordered a wide replacement baffle (from sources: I should have ordered a narrow one; dryer now has three wide baffles, instead of two wide and one narrow). Using directions from the internet, removed the door, front panel and could then raise the top. It's helpful to have someone hold the top up while working. Using two screws/washers from my collection, installed the baffle. Also tightened the screws holding the remaining baffles. I replaced this baffle simply because it was missing, with no expectation of any noticeable effect; HOWEVER, sheets no longer ball up in the dryer, which was an annoying behavior without the third baffle. 

Ordered the needed part. We removed the door and the front panel. Lifted the top found the two screws from the baffle in the bottom of dryer replaced the broken baffle and reinstalled the panel and door. 

I located the loose baffles. Then followed AppliancePartsPros.com video on how to change the baffles in an attempt to tighten them first. After determining the baffles were damaged/worn, AppliancePartsPros.com website helped me find the correct parts. The parts arrived super quick and I was able to install them almost as quickly using the instructional video. 

Disassembled the dryer, and removed all support rollers and tensioner pulley. Removed broken belt. Vacuumed out years of lent build up from the drive motor, and heater assembly. Polished support studs for drum support rollers and tensioner pulley. Installed the new drum support rollers, tensioner pulley, and new belt. Installed a new drum baffle after finding missing screws among the lent ). Reassembled the dryer -- working great, and running very quietly now. 

Replaced with new baffles. 

I replaced the dryer drum felt to stop the metal to metal sounds as the drum rotated. It was a easy job but made easier by watching the video to see just how to complete the task. Also replaced dryer drum baffle at the same time, also very straight forward job. 

Ordered a new baffle and installed it. 

This video showed EXACTLY how to fix and it was so much easier than I thought it would be. Incredibly impressed by this site, will definitely use in the future! 

I watched a YouTube video and the part was easy to install. The part came in 4 days after I ordered it.
