How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6020669 / WPW10381562 Washer Door Boot

Removed top, then front. Removed & replaced bellow reassembled unit 

I searched on Youtube what could be the problem and how it could be fixed and I found a video that said that it could be the bellow that was ripped. So I checked the bellow and it was indeed ripped in many locations. I ordered a new one and follow the steps on the video on how to replace the bellow. It was tricky, but not difficult. I was able to do it successfully and now my washer is working perfectly again without any leaks. 

Bought a new one and my husband installed it 

Purchased repair part from AppliancePartsPros.com, watched video detailing repair, executed repair. The repair video said all screws would be torx - on my machine only one screw was torx and the rest were hex-head cap screws and one phillips screw so I needed three different screwdrivers! Overall it was a straightforward repair job. 

Installed new bellow it was not as easy as shown on the video, but with your excellent customer support we installed it without any problems 

Well if you're handy with tools to begin with, and can watch the instruction video, than you can replace this part. Just follow along with the video. I had a stackable unit, so removing the dryer unit from top the washer took the majority of the repair time. The only thing I had trouble with is the actual "setting" of the bellow in the drum grooves. Might want to ask for an extra set of hands. All in all the repair is easy and straight forward. 

The video was invaluable! Although our machine was slightly different the video gave us an idea what to look for and where to look for it at. We did have to take half the machine apart but the bellow was easy to install and it only took about an hour to do so. 

Ordered part. Fast delivery, thank you. Watched the video on the website and while not the exact model, it was close enough to guide us through the installation. Have not tried the machine yet, hopefully no leaks! Paid more for this seal than other sites, but on reading closely you will find that the cheaper sites are not OEM. Glad to pay the extra for quality. 

My washer machine was leaking at the front. This occurred because The bellow was worn. Once I confirmed it. I ran across this website and saw the "DIY" Video. It was just as easy as the instructor in the video did it. It saved me over a hundred dollars and my wife is happy! If you have a tool set and know that this is the problem, GO FOR IT! 

Wife did most of the work. Easy except for the spring at the end. Requires a little work to get it to fit. Careful if you decide to stretch the spring as it gives easily and you will stretch it way to far as I did. Easy project!
