How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6020669 / WPW10381562 Bellow

I called a repair company and told them the problem. Asked them to bring the part and replace it. When they arrived they asked what was wrong. I told them and said they were supposed to already know. They said it would be $380.00 and had to order the part and replace it in 3 days. I was very upset, had to pay them $89.00 just to show up. I paid $140.00 for the part it was delivered in 2 days and took about an hour to replace. Piece of cake 

I took the other one off and put the new on. 

Ordered a new bellow. Previously I had ordered from somewhere else and they sent the wrong one. I will trust you alone from now on. I thought I could save money, NOT. You sent it and we had it within 2 days. We watched several videos on YouTube, by the way there are way too many different videos, so we combined knowledge into our project. I could do most of it myself but needed help from my husband stretching the outer metal band. We or I was so excited to DIY together. Thanks. While we were at it we cleaned the bottom filter. 

I bought a new bellow and replaced it. 

The replacement bellow came very quickly and was exactly what I needed to replace the torn one on my Maytag MHWE201YW washer. The repair video was great - I would never have done this repair without it. The only tricky part was getting the front panel clamp back on - what worked for me was to get most of the clamp on, then stand next to the front panel (not in front of it) to pull the spring part of the clamp with a needle nose pliers. I was able to pull the spring while keeping it in the groove and get the rest of the clamp on. 

Change the seal.

I followed instructions contained in your "how to" video (which was very helpful). It took a while because the gasket/boot is a bit fussy to install. But I got it done eventually. The washer no longer leaks and I am a household hero. Thanks!
