How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6020796 / WPW10392041 Lid Lock Bezel (Top-Load Washer)

Watched a video and then did it. 

Replaced lid switch bezel, the lid switch strike, and the shift actuator. The washer works fine. The only question mark was the shift actuator that was sent was different than the one shown on the video. I called pro parts and was told the part was changed but still should work. It did. 

Ordered the replacement part from AppliancePartsPros, reviewed the how-to video link included with the part description, then replaced the part. You really make it as easy as possible - great job. 

First I Googled the brand and then went to different sources online to trouble shoot my problem. I felt sure that the problem was with the lid lock assembly. So, I ordered the appropriate parts through AppliancePartsPros...what a great company! I watched several U-tube videos for guidance. It wasn't as easy as the videos demonstrated...the whole top assembly didn't lean back easily...some screws were 'special'...star shaped...kept dropping parts...did it totally by myself (a 65 yr old woman)..but...I did it...it works...I'm estatic!
