The real hardship is shutting and clearing out the freezer drawer. Top rack was a pain in the butt to remove but door and everything else was fast and logical. It takes time to defrost evaporator coils and I used a heat gun! Make sure you pull unit out and track how much water is coming out of plug into pan. If you have a lot of ice melt, it will flood the floor. Have a siphon or something ready to start extracting water on the hour. Replacement part does NOT come with wire caps. You need 2 small ones and some black electric tape. Snip the old unit off, strip the existing wires to ECU about 1/2 inch and then twist on new thermo. Easy peasy. Just takes time because everything comes out and everything has to go back in again.
