First symptom was that the freezer seemed colder than usual. Then the fridge was very warm one morning, and I saw that the coils in the freezer compartment were frozen solid. I thought that the coil defroster might be out, but when I tested continuity on that, all was good. Then I realized that when I had turned the fridge & freezer off on the inside-the-fridge controls, the compressor didn't actually turn off; it kept cooling, so that I had to unplug the fridge to thaw the coils. Once I realized that, I knew that the control board must have been bad. I ordered that, and the replacement took about 7 minutes (thanks to the outstanding video on AppliancePartsPros.com). I plugged it back in, and within a few minutes, the compressor turned off, and all was back to normal.
