How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008592 / WP3412D024-09 Sealed Gas Burner Head

Purchased the recommended parts. Took the stovetop apart, removed the old parts and installed the new ones. Worked like a charm. Changed out the knobs and burner. The stovetop looks and runs like new! Thanks to you all. 

Replaced burner in 5 minutes and it wasn't any better than old burner. Found out there was an ignition switch and ordered the switch wiring harness. Expect delivery Nov 10. 

Replaced the igniter. Before the fix, the oven would warm up to the set temperature (say 400 degrees) then because of the weak igniter the burner would not relight for a long 20-25 minutes, oven would cool down (to around 250 degrees) so items would not cook thoroughly or on time. Now this 20 year old oven works like new, fires up the oven burner in 30 seconds and maintains temperature right on the money. Replacing the igniter was very simple thanks to your videos. Just two Philips screws mounting the igniter and the quick disconnect for the wire. 

I suspected a bad igniter. When I removed the burner to inspect, the burner had several rust holes in the base. So, I ordered a new burner (which included an igniter). YouTube was my friend and it took all of 5 minutes to replace and now all of my burners light. It was a very simple fix that anyone can do. 

I ordered two new ones and I attached the wires and they fit perfectly. 

Replaced the burner head. 

I purchased 2 sealed gas burner heads to replace my Magic Chef's old rusted out burners. It was as easy as the video provided on the website shows. These are the steps I took: 1) unplugged stove from electricity; 2) removed old burners by twisting counterclockwise by hand; 3) unplugged electrical connections from the burner (for ignitor); 4) installed new ones following steps 1-3 in reverse order. The new burners are working flawlessly. Just one additional comment: my old burners were easy to remove, but if they are stuck or too hard to remove I would recommend using a strap wrench. 

Replacing the burner was simple, once I got the replacement part. Twist the old burner counter clockwise to release from the stove top. Disconnect the two wires for the ignition system. Connect the wires to the new burner. Insert the burner into the stove top an twist clockwise to lock it in place. Test by turning on the flame. 

Replaced with new ones 

Turn power off twist burner off, install new one, twist it, in done.
