How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008592 / WP3412D024-09 Sealed Gas Burner Head

The video was a big help, showing just how easy the repair is. The Q&A was also valuable because it said the black heads were interchangeable with the original gray ones. They are and the black heads are considerably less expensive.The biggest challenge was breaking the severely rusted heads loose. A strap wrench took care of 3 of them, but the fourth crumbled and had to be rotated with a hammer and chisel. After that, it was a very easy repair. (Other than cleaning burned-on ... stuff!) I had some trouble getting a burner or two to light correctly with the sparker. There is a tiny hole just below and behind the electrode where the spark should jump. It had been painted over so the spark went above the insulator where it doesn't light as well. Chipped the paint, bent the electrode slightly and no problem. Took less than 15 min. per burner. 

Ordered the parts by noon, got the parts by 3 pm next day with standard shipping. Opened the box, got the old parts out, installed the new parts in within 5-7 minutes. And they fit and worked as advertised. Happy customer.

Thanks to AppliancePartsPros, I disassembled, painstakingly cleaned and rebuilt the entire range top and convection oven and it works beautifully. To ensure years of service, I purchased an additional Control Board and (4) Sealed Burners. Thanks to AppliancePartsPros. 

We got the new burner. It was an exact match, so often when you buy online it's not the right part. So my husband put it in took all of 5 minutes and I was cooking. 

Unplugged stove ; removed old burner; pulled off both wires and plugged onto new burner; reconnected stove and up and running in less than 10 minutes. 

Super simple to replace Burner Heads. Which solved the problem in less than 2 minutes and worked great.
