How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6973143 / W11395618 Capacitor

Simple replacement. Easy 

Replaced shifter. Piece of cake. 5yr old machine in vacation home barely used. Repair by service company would have cost more than the 300 bucks I paid for it at Home Depot. Cost 50 bucks for part and 20 minutes of my time to have the machine up and running again. 

Changed the shift accuator and capacitor 

Lying the washer down and a socket set and screw driver . And of course the right parts from the right appliance pros. And delivery was excellent as always 

Swapped out the capacitor and actuator and everything was back to normal again 

Replaced the capacitor. 

Replaced the capacitor and it fixed it. 

Youtube was my tutor, also found a manual inside of the machine panel front - I removed the top panel with lid/ manual taped in ziplock bag-who knew. Ran diagnostic tests with help of manual and eliminated causes. Ordered shift actuator, which was fast turnaround thanks disassembly and install were definitely doable,20 minutes to take apart, maiden voyage and 5-10 minutes to reassemble.
