Dean Porzel October 31, 2023 for Model Number MVWC416FW0 I need to replace a capacitor on a Maytag washing machine, model MVWC416FW0, CAPACITOR w10868381. i believe this machine uses two capacitors, one for the hot side and one for the cold side. What is the correct replacement and where is it available?
Travis February 21, 2023 for Model Number 110 25132411 I ran the diagnostic mode, it came back with a lid switch fault and basket speed sensor fault. The spin basket spins just fine by itself. I replaced the lid lock and the shift actuator. The washer only hums when it tries to agitate or spin. Would this be a capacitor problem?
1 Answer Travis, with the power cord unplugged, the drive belt would need to be removed and the motor pulley rotated by hand. If it does not rotate freely, the motor W11283592 would need to be replaced. If it does rotate freely, the run capacitor W11395618 would be a possible cause of failure and once it has discharged, it can be tested for 50 uf. If it does not have the correct measurement, the capacitor would need to be replaced. Read More...
Travis February 21, 2023 for Model Number 11005132411 Ran diagnostic mode, came up with lid switch fault and basket speed sensor fault. Replaced the lid lock and the shift actuator, but the motor still hums when it tries to wash or spin. Would that be the capacitor?
1 Answer Travis, unfortunately, the model number provided does not appear to be a valid model. If the number could be verified and provided in a new post, this will allow the most accurate information to be presented. As a general check, the spin basket would need to be rotated by hand to identify if it can rotate freely. If not, there would likely be an item stuck in between the basket and outer tub that would need to be removed. Read More...
Joe May 12, 2022 for Model Number WTW5000DW1 Washer fills and drains but won’t agitate or spin. Belt is good. No obvious bulging or leakage from capacitor. Burnt rubber smell.
1 Answer Joe, It would be recommended to put the unit into a service diagnostic mode to see if there are any stored error codes. This will most likely be a shift actuator issue but would recommend checking for any error codes. Read More...
Raymond March 07, 2020 for Model Number MVWC565FW0 washer runs but has a strong burning chemical smell, I thought it was belt slipping , and looked under washer, there is oil residue on belt and pully and flung around under washer, could it be coming from capacitor and need to replace capacitor even though its still running?
Vincent May 16, 2019 for Model Number WTW4950XW3 Replaced Shift Actuator, after recalibration ,will not run ,only green sensor light will flash. The shift actuator arm moves very slowly and will not engage. The gearcase, splutch are 1 year old, everything moves freely. Could it be the Capacitor ?
1 Answer Vincent,if the capacitor was faulty the motor would make a repeating hum noise trying to start. The shifter arm does move slowly normally but should rotate about 10 seconds and stop in either agitation or spin position. When the control board recognizes the shifter position the control board will then power the motor. Unfortunately the green light only indicates the control board sees a problem not what the problem is.You would need to run the service diagnostic test mode to find what the control board sees as a problem as per the fault code., The Technical Service sheet/booklet comes with the washer and is either in the control panel console or is a plastic bag attached to the inside front cabinet panel near top. Vincent May 13, 2019 for Model Number WhirlPool WTW4950XW3 My washer makes constant clicking sound, sounds like the shift actuator is trying to shift but cant. I replaced the gear case 1 year ago .Everything worked well until past couple of months .Machine would also just stop after filling ,would not start up until I pressed the power button ?
1 Answer Vincent, The shift actuator does shift the splutch position from agitate to spin so i would also make sure nothing is binding and causing this noise. Read More...
Mike April 18, 2018 for Model Number Kenmore p/n 110.25132410 My Kenmore will not start. You can hear the motor running, but machine will not rotate. Only sensing light will come on.
1 Answer Mike, You will want to gain access to your tech sheet and see if there are any error codes stored. If there is a error code then you will want to do the test for that error code. Read More...
Corinne S March 09, 2018 for Model Number mvwc360aw0 Hi, we replaced the splutch cam kit and the shift actuator and the drum seems to be stuck and still doesn't seem to want to spin. What else could be the problem?
1 Answer Corinne, If you are unable to turn the drum by hand then this will most likely be an issue with the bearings in which the gearcase would need to be replaced. If this checks ok then this would likely be a motor issue if the unit is not spinning or agitating. Read More...
Shellie December 13, 2015 for Model Number NTW4600YQ1 This is an Amana washer. If the capacitor is out will the washer not spin.
