How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4299744 / 8206230A Charcoal Filter

I ordered the part from appliance parts pros and it was the right part. The repair was a snap. 

We went to hardware stores and home improvement stores and couldn't find a replacement. I was finding different sizes but not the one I needed. I went online and saw your site, clicked on it and found what I needed right away. It came within about a week. I'll be coming back for these hard to find items. Price was great to my surprise! 

Followed instructions to a tee 

After buying both the charcoal filter and grease filter the process was relatively simple. The grease filter simply required shifting it to the left to remove it from the microwave. Adding the new filter was as easy to install as to remove it. The charcoal filter needed a little bit more work. You had to unscrew (2) Phillips screws by removing the top part of the microwave. From there, just pull the charcoal filter out and gently place the new filter in.

Ordered new lamp and changed them out +both filters. No problem other than the microwave oven above stove hard to get at. All went well thanks for the prompt parts, Norm 

Both the door and grill vent were very easy to replace. The door only has one small star head screw on the top holding it on and the grill vent had two phillips head screws. The charcoal filter is located behind the grill vent and slides out easily. Shipping was fast and packaging good.
