Turned the dishwasher on its side and found it very easy to take the pump off. Only needed to remove the hose clamp and the pump just pulled out. I unscrewed the 3 screws holding the casing to the pump motor and found the chopper completely mangled. The sprocket on the motor drive shaft was a little bit worn also so I went online and found in your parts diagram that I needed to order the whole pump assembly because you can't just order the sprocket separately. Since the sprocket wasn't badly damaged I just ordered the chopper. I paid the extra $1.00 for standard shipping and received the part in less than 2 days. But when I matched the sprocket with the new chopper I found that the sprocket was too damaged for it to work properly so I just reinstalled the pump without the chopper and the dishwasher works like new. I just need to rinse off the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher. A small price to pay to save $170 for a new pump assembly.
