First, I found the maintenance manual under the kick plate. Then watching videos from various sources I was able to disassemble the door and gain access to the control panel and control board. You may have to go to various videos because some are accurate but DO NOT show the particular model you're trying to repair. For example, there are slight variations in how to disassemble the front panel.
Following the directions for servicing the machine I was able to pinpoint that it was in fact the control panel and NOT the control board. I ordered the part from appliancepartspros, com and fixed the problem. This is the second time in about a month that I have had the opportunity to order parts, the first was to replace the water valve that feeds water to the refrigerator ice maker.
Two for two with these folks, I highly recommend them. Repairs are relatively easy even for a novice such as myself. A neighbor had a TORX set of drivers which was a big help in getting the panel disassembled.
