How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019277 / WPW10312300 Ice Container Assembly

Replaced with a new one and it fit perfectly. 

Ordered a new Ice Container Assembly. Took 5 minutes to replace. 

Ordered a new ice bin witch arrived the next day, slid the old one out and slid the new one in works great now. 

The prior home owner left the manual. So I was able to troubleshoot and found that the ice maker container had cracked and was duck taped as a fix. The duck tape was no longer holding. I was able to find the replacement at appliance parts pros. The best thing about APP is not only did they have the part but they had a video that showed me exactly how to remove and replace the assembly. 

Bought a new drawer and simply replaced it 

Switched old ice tray with the new one I ordered from you all. 

Ordered a full bin (with auger) from Appliance Parts Pros. Installed in seconds and it works beautifully! 

I emptied the ice bin to find there was a big chunk of plastic broke off where the blades are and we ended up with fine pieces of plastic in our drinks. I replaced the whole ice bin. 

The auger was bound up tight because of cracked plastic in the basket. The cracked internal part wasn’t replaceable. The auger motor would not turn even with the basket removed. I replaced it as well. Must remember the bit on the motor shaft is marked LH (a left-hand thread). Watch that video if you don’t know left hand vs right hand. Still didn’t work. I removed the control panel on the front of the door. The paddle switch was hanging loose because the mounting pins were broken. Bingo! Replaced the mounting bracket and all is wonderful. Appliance Part Pros is so great. I love the videos. Love the super fast shipping. I actually look forward to appliance problems with them in my toolbox. I really liked previously replacing the ice maker. Who would have thought they’d have a little heater in them to loosen the cubes?
