How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022016 / WPW10475780 Panel-Cntl (Stl)

Removed the screws surrounding the back panel of the dishwasher door using a hex bit (forgot what size). Used a stubby driver to unscrew the center screw inside the shell of the door that holds the control panel in. Unclipped the ribbon cable and put everything back in reverse and it was as good as new. 

First I changed the circuit board and it worked one complete cycle and then it was back to not changing cycles and shutting off. The reset would shut some lights off but not respond to some buttons or run complete cycles, so I ordered and installed the panel control and it works fine now. I don’t know if I really needed the first recommended circuit board part or not but too late, I tossed the old one since it worked one cycle; however, at least it works now. 

Replaced the touch panel. Turned off the power. Then, it was a few screws (torx), slide the front panel up, and replaced. Turned on the power and it worked. Some of the things I read on the internet said that you must replace both the control panel and central control (computer), but that was not the case.
