How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022016 / WPW10475780 Panel-Cntl (Stl)

I fixed it by replacing both the control panel, (It was quite worn), and the electronic control board. The repair was made even easier after watching a short tutorial on AppliancePartsPros Youtube channel! 

Replace the touch pad. 

Replaced the control panel. 

Replaced the strike plate so door knew it was shut, replaced latch too then switched the new control button pushy button bar 

Watched YouTube videos to diagnose, and then replace Control Panel. 

I found the control panel part on the AppliancePartsPros site, it was easy to locate. Replacement control panel ordered and delivered in short order. Removal and installation was a snap, requiring only a Torx screwdriver. Remove six screws to take off the door panel, remove three screws to remove the control panel. Put the new control panel in place. Put the front panel back on. In 20 minutes I had a perfectly working dishwasher! I saved hundreds of dollars, thank you, AppliancePartsPros! 

Replaced control panel and works like new again. 

I went on appliancepartspros.com’s website, entered my model no. And it showed me the possible parts I may need. By reading through the stories and solutions others had been given, I learned that I needed to order a new control panel, not the circuit board. I ordered it, received it quickly, and followed the directions someone else had posted on replacing the control panel, and Voila, had my dishwasher back at work. So thrilled, what a great resource this website is. Thank you so much! 

The buttons on my old control panel were either not responding or selecting the wrong control. I would push "normal wash" and "just rinse" would be selected. Comparing the new vs old control panel, it was clear the flat, wire strip from the old control panel to the electronic control board was either burnt or corroded. I replaced the control panel in about 15 minutes. As soon as I turned the machine back on, the control panel worked perfectly. 

We purchased a new control panel. It is very easy to just disconnect and slip another one in. We've turned off the circuit breaker and plugged a new panel in, like a computer part. Dishwasher working like new. Beats replacement of the whole thing. It is only 3 years old Maytag.
