How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6014695 / WPR9800486 Diode

I watched a couple YouTube videos on how to replace the magnetron and diode on my Jenn Air microwave. I was able to take apart and replace the magnetron and diode in about an hour, saving me time and money. A professional repairman would have cost me hundreds of dollars and that would have been if I could have even get an appointment scheduled in a timely manner. 

With the help of my wife, we removed the built in oven from mounting bracket over stove. Placed on kitchen counter, disassembled unit. Shelter in place microwave repair 101. Installed magnetron and diode into unit. Reassembled microwave and remounted. Time for some popcorn and voila, works perfectly once again. 

Magnetron was what we needed. Total maybe 1 hour and we are NOT pros. Easy fix and we are back up and running. Ordered the part Friday afternoon and had it Saturday. Thank you! 

Replaced the magnetron - was a fairly easy and manageable repair, and the microwave is working correctly now! Did not need the diode and will be returning it. 

1. Followed step process of removing cover (carefully). 2. Identify components; magnatron & diode (electrical parts connected to high voltage storage device (capacitor). Capacitor; Understand the dangers of this component before working with it. 3. Follow step process to remove old parts and install new parts. 4. 30 minute repair. Excellent customer service, Excellent delivery time.

I read the previous reviews from other customers and bought the magnetron and the diode. I ended up replacing the magnetron first and hooking everything back up, it was very simple and easy the microwave heated up, I didnt have to replace the diode. Thanks for the great information it helped out a lot . Make sure you discharge the capacitor when working on the unit you will get hurt if you don't.
