How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5950061 / W10727422 Upper Dish Rack

Order parts and replace. When removing attachments, do them one at a time and install them on new rack as you go. Watch for the small release tabs on the attachments (baskets, rollers and tine holders), "gently" put pressure to release; remember these units have been in hot water and they are brittle. 

I ordered the racks from you and then searched YouTube for instructions on how to replace the rack system. I could not find instructions on your site or a maintenance manual on line. Fortunately You Tube had several videos on similar models which helped significantly. 

I replaced the circulation pump motor after watching the video. The repair went perfect! I should have done this a year ago instead of listening to the noise. 

Ordered a new rack 

Replaced upper rack with new. 

I ordered a replacement top rack and bottom rack. My daughter helped us with this project. 

The upper and lower dishracks needed to be replaced because of the corrosion/rusting in certain areas - we'd been delaying replacement because the racks are expensive (~$250 total). Replacing the lower dishrack was a breeze - the upper dishrack was a little trickier because the instructional video was not the exact same part so I had to figure out some areas by myself. Of course, I spent some time cleaning the parts prior to reattaching them to the racks for good measure. Overall, the process took me 2 hours, but I'm thorough, methodical and clean up after I'm done. Also, I'd planned for my husband to do this task, but I decided to be super-housewife and am very proud of my accomplishment. :-D 

When the parts came we suddenly realized the repairs required the extra steps of taking off wheels, etc. The videos were amazing and made the process actually a little fun for my wife and I to follow. Great DIY process! Thanks 

Disassembled the old rotten one, using the same clips and tines from the old rack (which fit and were all still in good shape, even after 10 years), made sure the spray arm fit into the receptacle in the back of the dishwasher, which it did. Only took about 20 minutes. 

I ordered a replacement top dish rack for my Frigidaire Dishwasher along with the movable tines. The parts came very quickly and it was simply a matter of moving the old mounting pieces and under-rack water sprayer from the old rack to the new.
