How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4324941 / W10155344 Diverter Motor

DIY, changed motor and sump. Put a dab of valve lubricant on seal. Wet outer seal of sump to get it to seat in bottom of tub. Cleaned electrical connectors corroded by leak. Coated connectors with dielectric grease. Had to buy additional clamp. Two clamps came in the sump package but both fit the smaller hose only. Neither fit the large hose. I wish the correct clamps were included. Home improvement store clamp is a little too wide to fit between ridges in large hose. 

Replaced diverter motor, reversed o-ring which was improperly installed backwards at factory. 

The leak was eliminated by replacing the sump housing and installing a new o-ring on the turbidity sensor. 

I watched the video then ordered the part it was there in less than 36 hrs. and installation took less than 30 minutes an absolute prefect match it could not have been any Easier 

Replaced sump housing and diverter motor. 

Turned the machine on its side to see where the leak was coming from. Pulled the leaking diverter motor off and ordered a new one. ordered a new grommet seal from another location because you did not show one in stock. Put in new seal and diverter motor. Check operation. 

I ordered a new diverter motor. Then I discovered I had to order the sump pump kit in order to get the proper seal/grommet for the diverter motor. Crazy. I poked around and luckily found the perfect one elsewhere on the internet. I did not need to use the new diverter motor I had purchased. The seal stopped the leak. I had no trouble doing the repair with the help of the Appliance Parts Pros video. 

Replaced the Diverter Motor and Sump Assembly. Note: The Diverter Motor included an in-line fuse, but not any explanation/documentation if/why this was required. The Sump turbidity sensor hole was looser than the original sump, and the cover on the pump motor connection was also loose (had to hold the cover on with tape). No leaks yet. I was recommended to replace the sump with the diverter motor (due to the seal), but not sure if this was necessary or not. 

I could see that the leak was coming directly from this part so it was just replaced. It took about 20 minutes and is running great again. 

Replaced sump and diverter motor. There were several issues with the replacement parts: The sump came with two clamps to attach the pump to the sump. The smaller of the two clamps was too large and would not tighten around the hose. The larger of the two clamps was too small and would not fit around its hose. I had to find replacements at the local hardware store. The diverter motor came with a small instruction sheet telling me to use the enclosed grease on the shaft of the motor. There was no grease. It also came with a wire pigtail with two fuses but no instructions for its use. Whirlpool needs to do a better job of quality control!
