How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4319999 / W10169313 Dryer Door Switch Kit

Replace thermal fuse and door switch. 

Replaced it. 

Even though this website recommended that the thermal cell was probably the issue I was certain that it was the door switch so I did that first, of course I should listened because it was the thermal fuse as listed with the highest % it could be on this website! I now have a frig I fixed last year and a dryer this year, as a single lady I fixed both on my own and saved a ton of money. Everyone should keep this website handy. 

I replaced the worn parts. Removed the electric motor/pump assembly then took it to my motorcycle repair shop to clean/maintenance the motor, remove the old pump because it was stuck on the motor shaft. Once removed I blew out dust/debris from the motor w/compressed air. Sanded and filed the corrosion off the shaft, applied a "sealing grease" of sorts to the shaft to make potential future removal easier and reassembled. I took the whole wamma jamma home, reinstalled and wah-la, fixed. I am blessed more than most to have access to hand tools and other equipment at my shop. I could've fixed it completely at home but, since I've the ability to take it further, I did. 

Replaced the switch. 

Installed new Dryer Door Switch Kit 

Unplugged dryer. Removed front panel. Unplugged wires on door switch. Then I connected the wires and tried the dryer, and it ran okay, so I knew that the problem was the door switch. Installed the new door switchand and plugged dryer backin and dryer now starts. 

Watched the video and in 5 mins I was all done, very easy. 

Replaced 2 drum rollers , door switch that was broken , new motor and belt. New motor hook up different than original requiring crimping on new terminals to several wires but able to follow documentation explaining procedure ! New Maytag gas dryer approx. 700.00. New parts with shipping 163.00 to repair this one ! 

Replaced the button switch w/no problem...it clips in...but the buzzer was still stuck on, so I disconnected the buzzer in the control panel, and taped the connections to prevent any further shorts. No buzzer is better than continuous buzzer, and the control part is $200, which isn't going to happen on my 25 year old Maytag
