How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4242494 / LA-1044 Dryer Heating Element Kit

Replaced the heating element and thermal limit switch. It took about 15 minutes start to finish and was very easy.

I ordered the Whirlpool heating element repair kit, and replaced the heating element and hi-limit thermostat as a repair. 

Ordered the part from Appliance pros and installed took just a few minutes and arrived days before I was expecting it to 

To fix, I simply had to remove the top panel on the back of the dyer. The heating element was visible after this state and so was the temperature fuse. About 6 bolts later and it was replaced. My only word to the wise is to ensure you do not drop any bolts into the back of the dryer because that would require full dis-assembly to retrieve. 

I received a free dryer knowing it did not work. The man gave me some thermal sensors he had purchased. I found that was not the problem. I needed a heating element. I went online at 10:30pm on a Sunday night to order the part. I had it shipped regular shipping and received the part on Tuesday in the mail. My dryer was working by Tuesday night.
