Jerry B Lansing , MI May 17, 2022 Broiler element shorted out causing sparks and flames in the oven Tripped circuit breaker to stove and used fire extinguisher to put out flames in oven..a word of caution ..even though I used a short quick blast from the extinguisher it caused a huge mess as the powder went everywhere.. although a mess is better than a fire for sure! Got on line with my stove model number at appliance parts pros ordered both oven and broiler elements and replaced both even though the oven was fine..did it just because it made sense to.. Most difficult part was fishing old terminal wires out of oven back wall...once oven was throughly cleaned the install of the new parts was a breeze...flipped circuit breaker back to on and all worked perfectly!!!...thank you appliance parts pros for you quick response!! ..parts were delivered in two days!!! Richard E Shaker Heights , OH December 12, 2017 Broiler not working in electric stove. Replaced broiler calrod element in our 1999 stove. Repair was simple, except that I had to trim the brackets holding the element to the rear of the oven so that they would clear a cover plate. A quick task with high grade tin snips did the trick. The broiler now heats properly. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Don K Midland , TX May 28, 2017 Broiler element was burned out Removed the retaining screws and the support screws. Disconnected the broiler element and removed it. Reversed the procedure to install the new one. Follow the video; very helpful. If I had paid more attention, would have saved time and tripping the breaker the first time; second time was because the new broiler element when connected to the power was in contact with the stove metal and tripped the breaker a second time. After correcting, worked fine when power was restored. Packaging note: One of the broiler element connections was sticking outside the packing box; no apparent damage. Thank God for breakers to protect idiots. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
