How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022801 / WPW10545255 Thermal Fuse

Had to pull the oven out, remove the top cover, replace the fuse You can check conductivity on the fuse to see if it's bad. If there is a total power failure good chance its the fuse 

Do you have a DATID or Whirlpool Oven that overheated? Start with this fuse! Despite owning the oven for more than six years, I ran the very first self clean cycle last month. Like many others, due to manufacturer errors in the original install instructions, self clean promptly killed my oven. After a series of googling and YouTube videos, I purchased a few different parts which seemed to fix similar whirlpool failures. After some trial and error with the other parts, this fuse worked like a charm. Also, I love the follow up videos sent which included tutorials and recommendations. Those were immensely helpful. 

We verified that it was the link by shorting it and observing that we had power to the unit. Then we went online to your fine service, found the part in a few moments, and ordered it. The part came in a few days. We carefully removed the old one and replaced it with the new. Now we had our oven functioning again! Top marks to you folks for a superbly-designed website and rapid fulfilment! 

Removed oven out of cabinet. Unscrewed plates. Replaced fuse. 

I tried all the basic tips. Power to the oven. Fuses in the breaker and nothing worked. I am no expert and we called for a service call at the end of the week. However, I spent a few hours online sharing my story and came up with one time try solution so I decided to buy the part, thermal fuse, and see if it worked. Worse come to worse I would have lost $20 but I could save $200. I searched the part and found “appliance parts pros” and entered the model number and they had it. No idea what in the world I was buying but I knew they had it and it matched the model. It arrived on time and quickly before I scheduled an appointment and proceeded to follow some dudes online and found the location of the part and it looked the same and I exchanged it and guess what !! It has been working for three days, we have brownies and I saved $200. Thanks. I hope not to have to use appliance parts pros again but if I need something, they will have it. Thanks 

Replaced in line fuse 

After checking to see if the circuit breaker had tripped, I tested the thermal fuse with a multimeter and there was no continuity. The part was very easy to replace. Just remove the control panel. Videos are on YouTube.

After a ridiculously high $800+ quote from appliance repair person for a new control panel. I called appliance parts pros. They walked me through various steps of testing my oven, starting with most basic, step 2 was testing the thermal fuse, score fuse tested bad with my digital multi meter. Saved me over $800 and took me only a few minutes to install the new fuse. 

Not my first rodeo with this oven model installed new 2013. After running 1st self-cleaning about 6 months in. The bugger went dead. Both (WPW10545255 & WP4449751) are on the same circuit. Used to just replace which ever went bad, unfortunately, they do not necessarily malfunction at the same time. So I now find it easier to just replace them both while the oven has been removed from the cabinet. Since they are not in the same location, you will still need to remove the back pannel to check the resistance on the Thermostat-Fix. If it is in parameters then you have a spare. The real work is removing the unit to access the items.
