How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022801 / WPW10545255 Thermal Fuse

The fix was simple since the fuse was equipped with spade sta-kons. Unplug the defective part and plug in the replacement. Great design for a part that must need replacement.more frequently than others. I diagnosed the problem and ordered the thermal fuse on a Thursday. The next day Fed-Ex showed up with the new part. Couldn't believe the speed of delivery. 

AppliancePartsPros.com has been my go-to website for a number of years now for home appliance repair. I researched the blogs about my issue and narrowed it down to the main thermal fuse which is near the front behind the control panel. The part was here within just a few days and the video that I found was spot on (only difference is that I did not need to remove any extra pieces before removing the control panel itself). I only needed to slide the oven out a few inches to swap out the part and it was super easy to do by myself (girl power!). All told it was a 15-minute repair and a $30 part. 

Replaced the Thermal Fuse recommended by AppliancePartsPros.com. Thank you !! I saved $400 in labor. 

Simply exchanged the Thermal Fuse behind the control panel, ( about 4 screws removal, plug and play with the fuse, reassemble the panel, and turn the power on ) 

Husband trouble shot the internal components and detected the thermal fuse had blown, I had made wings the night before and over heated it most likely when broiling with the door shut. Appliance Parts Pros standard shipping, got us the part overnight! 

Replaced the thermal fuse. It was very easy. 

I called the guy who installed it and he told me to test the fuse with my multimeter. Sure enough the fuse was bad. He sent me the link to order a new one. It took one week to come in the mail and then I replaced. 

First had to figure out why there was no power to the oven. Breaker was fine. Checked the control panel and saw the Thermal fuse had a slight discoloration on the feed wire side. Checked for resistance, no read. So I went to my go to site for appliance parts! Thank you APP for not just always having the part, but having the exploded schematic diagrams, it is the best way to find a specific part. Ordering couldn’t be any easier. Part showed up, installled in 2 minutes, breaker back on and boom, back in business! 

Changing the actual fuse is easy, taking the built-in oven out is another story, however, all in all, it was good. 

I looked on line and found many references to this brand having problems with the thermal fuse failing during a self cleaning cycle. I loosened the screws that held the oven to the cabinet just enough where the oven could slide out and give me access to the screws holding the control panel in place. Once I had the control panel off, the thermal fuse was right in front and easily accessible. I could also unlatch the oven door and obtain the model number of the oven. I then ordered a replacement fuse, which arrived within a week. The fuse was easily installed and the oven works again.
