How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007570 / WP307473 Thermal Fuse

I used the videos available at Appliancepartspros. I could not determine the exact part that would fix the problem so I ordered all four and installed them. 

Replaced heater, fuse, and thermostat. 

Very user friendly website. For a girl without any experience fixing appliances, this made it pretty easy. Didn't have a tester, so I figured I'd start with the hi-limit thermostat and the thermal fuse, replace those and see if it fixed it. The parts were at my doorstep within a day or two, I was surprised at how fast they shipped. They were also much cheaper than anywhere else I looked. When that didn't fix the problem, I figured it must be the heating element. I decided to pull the heating element out and look at it before ordering the part, and I noticed that one of the insulators holding on the coil was broken. This was obviously the issue. The part was under $10, but did take a bit longer to ship since it was a holiday weekend. Works like a charm now. Thanks for the help!

Used AppliancePartsPros tech help to identify 2 most probable causes of no heat. Opened dryer cover panel, visually located part locations and unplugged the Dryer. Confirmed I could remove the parts with the tools I had, 1/4 inch ratchet driver and 1/4 socket, Phillips head screw driver, blade screw driver, needle nose pliers to remove wire terminations from switch and fuse without breaking wire. Purchased a thermal limit switch 45% livability of cause, and a thermal fuse.10% cause of failure for $40+shipping =$50. While open thoroughly vacuumed all dust and any lint from the unit. Parts arrived in 4 days. I installed the thermal switch and plugged in the dryer and turned it on . The heating element came on and I ran it for 4 minutes to confirm it was operational, I could visually check that when heated, the glowing heat coil elements did not expand and droop or touch the sides of the metal container. I replaced the panel and dried a load of wash. Savings 2 visits by appliance repair , one to Identify problem one to bring part and install it estimated savings $175 to $200 and an appliance the local service leopard said don't have those parts anymore! Thanks , hope we get another 20 years out of this well made old school non-digital appliance. 

I replaced the Hi -limit thermostat, flat style igniter and gas valve coils. Everything works! I will keep the parts I ordered that I did not use as spares. Thanks for your great service! 

Replaced heating element sensor and thermal fuse. 

I ordered a dryer belt, which came the next day, thanks to a warehouse in Jacksonville, FL. Watched some videos on how to replace the belt, which was fairly easy once I learned a little trick: unplug machine. Place belt into groove on drum, then insert drum into machine just in front of the motor pulley. This will give you room to put belt around motor shaft and around idler pulley (make sure belt is not twisted) while you pull it up out of the groove to ride where it is supposed to, just in front of the groove. You can see the wear mark around the drum wear the old belt was ridding. My dryer works great now. 

Checked the videos ordered the parts and repaired in 30 minutes. Best part was telling my wife that's why I don't hire a pro , best feeling ever. Thanks Appliance Pro!
