How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007940 / WP33001762 Thermal Fuse

I figured the worst but hoped for the best. I ordered tumbler bearing kit/s and decided the thermostat needed replacing as well. In the videos that Appliance Parts Pros have on line, I learned that the thermal fuse could be a problem as well. Sure enough, as I replaced the parts I noticed where the fuse had blown (looked as though it had a small leak of some sort) and after taking the dryer apart (except the motor) and cleaning it up and getting it back together, it ran like a charm for a little bit, then the noise once again! I took part of the front off of the machine and after two tries to find out what the problem was, it turned out to be the blower wheel, I had seen earlier when I had things apart that the wheel had a small break in it! Lesson learned. Thanks for having the parts Appliance Parts Pros and the great service! 

Replaced the Flame sensor and Igniter and dryer works perfectly again. 

The site recommended to replace the door and thermal sensors. They were simple repairs so I ordered the parts. I replaced both of them. The entire job took less than an hour. The dryer started after the repair. 

Replaced igniter. All ok, may return other sensors and other parts. 

Ordered parts recommended by the very knowledgeable service rep. They were exactly what was needed to fix the problem. My husband watched the instruction videos (which he loved) and was able to install parts easily. 

I used the videos available at Appliancepartspros. I could not determine the exact part that would fix the problem so I ordered all four and installed them. 

Replaced the 3 sensors. 

Maytag Atlantis dryer. Heat would not turn on at all. Ordered the Flat style dryer igniter along with some other parts just in case. Dryer Igniter was first thing I tried and it worked right away. Will return other parts or just keep since in expensive. Watched the videos on the website. Was super easy to install. Hopefully dryer last another year. 

I bought several items at the advise of this site including sensors, but in the end it was the thermocouple and I’m so glad I bought it. It was one of the cheapest items. I ended up fixing my dryer myself for only $130 or so with tax and shipping. The information given on this site along the videos helped immensely, Thank you. Maytag made it easy to fix. 

I installed three new parts, each of which could have been responsible for the problem. Once installed the dryer resumed working properly. The videos were very helpful. But I would suggest the video on the installation of the gas valve coils make it a point to note that the each coil does not get inserted onto its post in the same orientation. The 3-prong coil is inserted such that the prongs are at the bottom, but the 2-prong coil is inserted such that that prongs are on the top. If you are paying very close attention to the video you will see this but it is not pointed out by the instructor. The entire transaction and repair process was exceptional overall. Thanks!
