How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009129 / WP40113801 Dryer High Limit Thermal Fuse

I have only 1 regret.THAT I tryed other sights first. Because Of that I wasted so much time just trying to access the inside of the dryer. I will NEVER USE another sight EVER AGAIN. I was able to access the in side find the bad fuse order it. Then it was here in less then 2 days. 10 minutes. And I did It . I'm. So proud of myself. Thank you all so much.. Was a very easy fix hardest part was just my arms not quite as long as I would have liked for a few minutes. 

A 35-year-old dryer has had zero issues until last week. The website showed that the thermal fuse is responsible 56% of the time and ordered up the part. I was able to put the fuse on the multimeter and it did seem like it was the culprit. Overall the part was easy to replace and video helped for sure. I had the dryer up and running about 15 minutes after getting the part. I believe the reason for the fuse popping was the exhaust tube was leaking lint into the main compartment, as there was a solid layer of lint everywhere. Glad we were able to get this dryer back up and running. It has been super impressive that it has lasted this long and seems to have a lot of life left. 

I researched what could cause the failure and learned it could be one of three components. I tested the heating element with an Ohm meter and was confident it failed. I ordered a replacement and opted to replace the two safety fuses as they were very inexpensive. The parts arrived in just two days and they were an exact match. It now runs and heats perfectly. 

All though I clean my lint trap every cycle I still had lint build up in my lint pipe that caused my problem. The thermostat fuse was bad, changed out easy fix. Thank you AppliancePartsPros, they were great at helping me with my problem, took me about 25 minutes. 

Replaced the heater coil, high limit fuse, and replaced the connection on the temp switch. Very easy and worked perfectly. Thank you. 

We ordered the high limit thermosstat fuse. it corrected the problem. 

I replaced the Dryer thermal fuse, Hi-limit thermostat, and the cycling thermostat. 

Found out it was the thermal switch. 

Ordered parts that were recommended as most likely to be the problem. Now everything is back to normal. 

Based on available information on websites, and urgency of having the dryer fixed ASAP, I ordered all parts related to heat. First time working on a dryer.
