How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4394243 / 31617A Gas Grate And Grill Cleaner

I needed a new burner cap, and was able to find it easily on AppliancePartsPros.com, and for less money than I would have spent with GE. 

I was cleaning my cook top and had put the knobs in the water to clean them. I forgot to take one out. Turned on my garbage disposer and you know what happened to that knob. The cook top is 17 years old. Never thought I would find a match. Well, I went to Appliance Parts Pro and a nice guy helped me order. One of my cook top pans was getting scratched from all the cleaning. They had that too and also a new grate. Now my cook top looks like new and spent less than $150.00 I couldn't be more pleased. 

It was n easy fix but first I had to make sure I was buying the correct ones for my cook top. I had the best customer service person ever. She wanted to make sure I had what I needed and then I would know which protecter went where. Great help!! 

Unfortunately, despite some dedicated efforts on the part Audrey Patrick and others, the problem was not solved. I replaced the door hinges, liner and gasket, but none of these solved what I believe is a flawed design. Thankfully, AppliancePartsPros generous return policy allowed me to pursue the repair without risking the cost of failure. My thanks to the company and to all those who were involved.

Bought a repair kit. 

Easy yes replaced the old one with the new one easy job 

Bought a new range top replaced the top which was difficult, there was 4 tiny screws on each burner had to take the front panel with the knobs off to get to the two more tiny screws to take the top off. but the job is done and Im glad it all works and looks great 

The replacement parts (control knobs) fit perfectly. 2 minute fix. The online Chat person assisted me in finding the part. I had tried several other websites and stores that did not have the correct part and could not help me find the correct knobs. Parts arrived in 2 days. Excellent service 

I replace all four top electric burners and the oven coil plus the drip trays and wire harnesses and clips. They sent the right GE parts the first time and the repair video helped even though this is a no brainer repair. It all cost about $200. A new over would have cost about $550. The only upgrade would have been a convection oven. It was a close call but I am a hard head and think of durable goods as really durable. The entire repair took about 2 hours tops. The killer was cleaning it. The thing was despicable, it hadn't been cleaned in 10-15 years. Two cans of easy off and steel wool plus a full 4 hours work. It surprised me how durable the white porcelain was, it came out looking like new. I could have bought a new one, but somehow I feel like I beat the system
