How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6024142 / WPY055980 High-Temperature Adhesive

Looked you guys up, talked to a pro, ordered and done! 

Replaced the tumbler bearing pads. Replaced felts and belt while I had it apart. The rear rollers had been replaced by someone else a few years ago, so I didn't replace those. The videos on your site made it easier. Thank you for those. 

Maytag dryer over 17 years old. Never had a problem so I figured that I would try to fix it because nothing now is made like it used to be. I initially replaced both rollers and belt. None needed to be replaced because I still had the thumping sound. I called the help line and dealt with a tech. This person, I regretfully forgot his name, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We both went through the work that I already performed in DETAIL and he went beyond what I was expecting helping me. We both agreed on replacing the felt because there was no other reason for my machine to be thumping. I received the felt in two days and changed it out. Thumping is NO MORE!! Thank you very much. Ordered appropriate replacement using the tools on your website, to verify it was the correct replacement part, ordered the glue from your site as well, did not find any better deals anywhere else on this either. The only difficult part was getting old adhesive off dryer door(acetone). Could not find a reference for glue drying time, so we let it sit 24 hrs. Otherwise, it all went great! 

Went online to find the parts breakdown. Ordered my parts and they were delivered the next day. 

I ordered a replacement door seal and the high temperature adhesive, found a video on YouTube for how to fix it- removed the old gasket, removed all the old adhesive from the door (sandpaper first, then followed with pure acetone and some scrubbing), thoroughly cleaned and dried the door, installed a new thin bead of adhesive and pressed the new seal in place. Easy! 

I did it. Can’t believe it was that easy. I watched a video on You Tube and then made the repair. 

I ordered parts online and watched video on repair. It was helpful that your company noted the adhesive glue was needed and to be ordered separately. 

After checking on-line videos, I opened the dryer enough to determine the problem and then ordered a front drum seal and adhesive, drum glides (2) and felt pads (2) and a new belt (thinking it would break soon anyway). Gluing the seal to the front bulkhead was the most difficult part, clamps as shown in the video did not work for me but a few pieces of "duck tape" worked well. The felt pads are self adhesive and the glides just slip into place, Fitting everything together was reasonably easy but I almost lacked the muscle to move the idler arm enough to get the belt on correctly. (just getting old)
