How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007159 / WP2305258 Door-Chute

Replaced tired motor and chute door seal plate... Through outside of unit door - I have worked in the appliance repair field for years 

I chose to replace all the involved parts since everything was 12 years old. My parts were exactly what I needed. It was easy to take apart the ice chute mechanism and replace with the new parts. It works great!! 

I replaced the ice door drive motor. 

Replaced ice dispenser door and motor to resolve it. It was easy to do, took about 30 minutes.

Replaced the door chute, motor and support. The parts were exactly what was needed to complete the job. It took my husband about 20 minutes. 

Replaced ice dispenser door and motor. 

Replaced the dispenser motor. It is a universal motor (brushes). Brushes were making contact sometimes (hit the dispenser compartment and it worked) but it seemed that the chute door was no closing causing the ice to bridge. Chute door operation is also a function of the motor. Replaced the motor and problem went away.... Easy repair and "happy wife-happy life. Great parts and service.
