Teri March 22, 2020 for Model Number 10656712500 The ice in the bin freezes into a large cube causing ice to jam down the chute. it also drips water out of the chute door. I have watched your videos and they do not match my frig. I have the swinging spout so I can fill larger containers with a specified amount of water. This piece is in the way of removing the chute door. Could you please direct me to the parts I need to replace and how to get this mechanism off to do so.
1 Answer Hello Teri, this sounds like the ice chute door is not closing and sealing fully, allowing an air leak into the ice bin area. first, since this is sxs ref check the freezer door wiring that connects to the cabinet is not damaged in the hinge area. The parts involved in closing the chute door and holding it closed is the door WP2305258 and the door motor WPW10184813. As far as dispenser area access the manufacturer has not provided that information, however, usually, you would start by removing the grill tray, which should expose screws allowing the slide then the separator to be removed. Steve January 31, 2017 for Model Number GS6NHAXVB04 Daughter just bought house and I need to do some repairs on the ice dispenser. Believe it is a Whirlpool Model GS6NHAXVB04 Need a new ice chute door as the sealing surface is worn and does not seal well. Would also replace chute if reasonable cost as there is a lot of mineral deposits built up on it, but can't find a parts list for this particular model to order correct parts Ice & water dispenser is all electronic not the more common levers to push glass against. Other than not sealing tightly everything seems to function properly.
1 Answer Hello Steve. You will need to order WP2305258 and [2322658B] to get the parts your needing. Read More...
Bob M. June 17, 2012 for Model Number Gs6nbextr01 Ice chute door does not open. I had replaced the motor, and upon emailing a question, I ordered the circuit board. I checked the dispener pads and they both have between 4-8 ohms. I replaced the circuit board ap3882921 and alas, the door still does not open! So, what shall I buy next? One note, if I lightly press the ice dispenser pad, the chute trys to open, but doesn't, so finally I held the chute door open, why not, nothing else works, and did this twice and the door works fine for two to four times then back to no open. Isn't there a service manual somewhere, cause so far I'm without ice and$$$$
1 Answer Hi Bob. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Find the tech. sheet inside the controls inside or folded behind the grill kick plate. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance. We will send you the tech sheet found on similar units. Find your wiring diagram and use the diagnostic sheet to assist you in the voltage checks output from the fountain control board to the inner board you already replaced. Our young archives do not have this wiring diagram itself yet. Is the motor getting the voltage? Is the keypad ribbon cable itself kinked or not fully inserted into the fountain control board ? Remove the top hinge and see if there are any burnt open or pushed open pins in the molex connector. Are there pins pushed back and not making connection? Are the pins on the boards and connectors making good connection? Use a magnifying glass if needed. Thank You. Read More...
Bob M. June 12, 2012 for Model Number Gs6nbexrt01 Ice chute door will not close, seems out of time or touch.I purchased a new motor and installed, it seemed to work a few times but now the door will not open. All parts are in great shape, nothing chipped or broken. I wondered if I have to reposition the door ans motor alignment and unplug the fridge or something as easy as that. I also thought thAt there might be a problem with the switch that actuated the door and ice dispenser, or a circuit board. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Bob. If the motor is new, and there is no broken parts on the dispenser, then it sounds like the control board WP2303843 is bad on the unit and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test the pads 2305247GM and see if they are closing when you press the switches built into them. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
George August 07, 2011 for Model Number GS6NDEXRB01 It seems that my Ice maker chute does not have a door, and that the room temp. is causing condensaition under the ice storage bin. And this condensaition a: leaks on the front of the door. b: freezes and makes bin removal impossible. Can a ice chute door be installed on it?
1 Answer Hi George. The door chute assembly part # is WP2305258. You may also need the clip that holds it. This part # is 2305447. Thank you. Read More...
