How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4359694 / W10190935 Refrigerator Ice Maker Control Module

Our ice maker went nuts and started dumping water all over the floor (i.e. wouldn't shut off). After disconnecting it and cleaning it, it failed to operate. I looked up the model number here and found the likely causes and replacement parts, and determined it was most likely the module & motor unit. I ordered the replacement, which came quickly, made the simple swap, and now I've got ice again. 

Isolated the part, found the part online, bought the part, installed the part. Easy. Really easy.

My ice maker after diagnosing other things like water valve decided that it was not working properly. I decided against buying a new icemaker and just got a new control module. As a result saved myself a few buck on entire unit. Works fine! 

Bought a new module and replace the old one. installation was easy it took me 20 mins to install it. 

We called appliancepartspros.com (actually I called withouth husband) and the support person walked me through troubleshooting and he was correct on the part I needed.We have used them on at least three other occasions -dryer,gas stove and ice dispenser on the same whirlpool.i ordered the part Black Friday at 1 pm and it was on my porch the niece day by 12.i usually don't give testimonials but they are truly GREAT!!!!

I tested the water valves and they were working fine. ordered and installed the new module which took care of the problem. When I replaced the module I did not remove the ice maker from the freezer and had no problem with the replacement. I have been a service tech. for 35 years. 

Ice maker was filling with water but wouldn't drop ice into the bucket ordered a new module and did the easy install my self probably save a few hundred on repairman . Glad to say I now have a ice maker that works beautiful... Thank you!!
