How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4248017 / R0131578 Water Inlet Valve Kit

I replaced the water inlet valve. The kit came with a hose and new attachment bracket, neither of which fit, but the valve fixed the problem. I thought I'd put the new hose on, but I guess it was for a different machine. I would have just ordered the valve, but the kit was all I could find. 

The same way I have done it before. But one thing, I resorted to get it this time from you because you offer the whole kit. Up until this time I have only got the valve from two different vendors. This will leave trying to rig a piece of hose an clamps any way I could but not the case this time, Thank You! Everything is working well again. 

My first thought was to suspect the water inlet valve that may not be shutting off completely after wash cycles were completed. But I wanted to prove without a doubt the valve was the problem. I then removed all power to the washer to eliminate the timer, wiring problems, or etc at the end of a completed wash cycle. With the washer unplugged the washer had 2 inches of water in the tub the next morning. I had no doubt it was the water inlet valve that was defective. I reviewed the video showing how to access the inlet water valve for replacement for my particular model. The video was great and the repair was a major success! ( Just ask my wife! ) 

Can't believe the part came the very NEXT day! Installed and working with the hour. 

Followed the instructions 

Ordered this mixing valve. Part worked perfecrly, but one wire was too short on my machine. I extended the wire with a new one. All works PERFECTLY now
