How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013204 / WP8558307 Dispenser Cap

My nine year old said the following to me while I was looking for a tool to complete the task. "mom do you remember a couple of months ago when you and daddy were trying to fix something? You went to the store and bought tools and you ended up calling repairman to fix it? That's their job, mom. Repairmen fix stuff. You are not a repairman" I fixed this my self in just over a hour. Take that! 

Just had to twist on cap 

I disassembled my dishwasher down to the chopper assembly. In the process I found the sprayarm bearing was split and the chopper assembly was broken. I ordered the bearing and the chopper assembly and also the dispenser cap for the rinse aid dispenser. As I took the dishwasher apart, I dug out massive amounts of broken glass, a rusty screw, the rubber pad off the bottom of a travel mug, seeds, plastic and food. Once I ordered the parts, they arrived within 3 days and I immediately began reassembling. Due to limited mobility, it took me longer than typical repair time would be. It was so exciting that once I had it back together, my dishwasher is as good as new! 

I order the part necessary from Appliance Pros.com and it fixed my problem, I order the part and had it the next day! What Service!!!!! 

Replacing the dispenser cap has stopped the leakage. Should pay for itself in a year or so. 

I ordered a new one from you and replaced it with old part. 

Purchased rinse cap. Shipped fast, came in a day. Took longer to open box than to install. Works great. 

I ordered a new dispenser cap. Easy fix but spendy for a small part. 

Took 2 seconds to install the new part and twist it in place.
